Good treatment starts with a clear diagnosis. Our clinic offers a detailed ENT assessment and advanced diagnostic testing, including hearing-related investigations and in-clinic examinations as needed.
Depending on the condition, this may include a hearing evaluation, nasal endoscopy, throat examination, and other focused ENT tests to accurately identify the cause of symptoms.
Your first consultation is designed to give you clarity by understanding your symptoms, identifying the likely cause, and discussing next steps.
1. Consultation and Examination
Dr Tan will ask about your symptoms, medical history, current medicines and any previous tests or treatments. He will then perform a focused examination of the relevant areas.
2. Tests, When Needed
Not every patient needs tests at the first visit. If further assessment would help clarify the diagnosis, the ENT doctor may recommend a hearing test, nasal endoscopy or another focused ENT investigation. The tests suggested will depend on your symptoms and examination findings.
3. Your Treatment Options, Explained
Dr Tan will explain the findings, likely diagnosis and suitable treatment options in plain language. Management may include monitoring, medicines, lifestyle measures or a procedure. If surgery is being considered, our team will discuss its purpose, expected benefits, alternatives, risks, and recovery so you can make an informed decision.

An otolaryngologist, or ENT specialist, is a healthcare professional who treats conditions of the ear, nose, and throat. They also perform head and neck surgeries, including procedures on the ears, mouth, throat, nose, neck, and face.
You should seek ENT review if you have any persistent or recurrent symptoms involving your ears, nose, throat, hearing, balance, or sleep that affect daily life.
Certain ENT procedures are Medisave-claimable; the amount depends on the procedure. Speak to our clinic staff about using your insurance plan, Integrated Shield Plan, or Medisave.
Not always. This depends on your symptoms and the findings during your examination.
Surgery is considered when the diagnosis supports it and when medical treatment alone is unlikely to provide a desired outcome.
A referral is not always necessary. A referral is needed insofar as your insurance may require you to present one for claims. Otherwise, most instances require no referral. If you have your scans, hearing tests, or clinic letters, bring them with you.
